This golf clubhouse on the south shore of Lake Tahoe provides a breathtaking setting with views sweeping from the mountains to a world class golf course and to a spectacular beachfront site overlooking the lake. The most recent project was an addition to create a golf bar and terrace, that was named to one of Golf Digests Best 19th holes in 2008. The lodge aesthetic of the clubhouse was maintained and emphasized with the large terrace capturing the unique surroundings. The palette and scale of materials refers directly to the environment, with the large scale log accents, the Tahoe granite terraces, the teak windows, the hand detailed bar and casework all emphasize the rustic elegance of the setting. The terrace is enhanced by a log trellis and granite fire pit, creating an inviting destination after a round of golf and for a greater audience looking for a beautiful lakefront experience. This project was undertaken as a joint venture between AWA and Zak Architecture. Previous renovation and additions to this clubhouse were completed with the same design team.
