Situated in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on the former H.H. Huston estate, this 1910 Wissahickon Schist home was in need of an extensive renovation. Beyond upgrading the services and finishes throughout the home, the client desired a completely new kitchen and enlarged living spaces, all with improved connections to the exterior grounds. Through some minor additions and reconfiguration of the existing architecture, the kitchen and living room spaces became more spacious and now feature abundant daylighting and views. Opening the interior to the exterior necessitated extensive site improvements, which included the relocation of the parking and driveway, a new outdoor terrace and entry walkway, and new rear yard.
